Experiment on Newton's Second Law of Motion

On December 3, 2025, Ms. Chhoy Kimmuy, a physics teacher of American Intercon School, Chbar Ampov Campus, led Grade 10 students in conducting an experiment on Newton's Second Law of Motion. The primary objectives of this laboratory session were to verify the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration enhance students' practical skills in data collection and measurement, and reinforce theoretical concepts through hands-on learning. Utilizing dynamic carts, tracks, pulleys, and hanging masses, the experiment proceeded in two distinct phases: first, holding the cart's mass constant while incrementally increasing the applied pulling force to observe corresponding changes in acceleration; and second, maintaining a constant pulling force while adding mass to the cart to analyze its inverse effect on acceleration. Ultimately, the students compiled and analyzed their measurement data to plot graphs and mathematically validate the core principles of Newton's Second Law.
